The mind is a powerful thing. You’ve probably heard that before, but it’s true. The mind is the only resource you have to change your life, and it’s the only stumbling block in the way of you becoming the person you want to be.
Although it takes a lifetime to fully harness the power of your mind, the journey to becoming the person you want to be starts with one choice: choose to start moving.
Start moving away from those trouble spots in your life – whether it be people, activities, food – and start moving towards the knowledge, skills and habits that will take you where you want to go. Here are four quick steps to getting started:
1. Determine who you want to be and write it down. Include your physical health, your activities, your standard of living, your level of giving, your sphere of influence, and anything else you want to be the defining aspects of your life.
2. Share this with someone, particularly someone close to you (i.e. spouse, best friend), even if it feels awkward to communicate your vision. It’s especially important to do this regardless of whether or not you belive this will come to pass.
3. Decide what the first step will be. It doesn’t matter what path you take or how long it takes you; what matters is that you start moving in this new direction.
4. Take this step and plan the next.
Most people spend their lives watching other people live theirs. Choose in your mind to start living the life you want to live, and inspire others to do the same. Choose to start moving.
